The Challenge
The information gap. In our first two months we listed 100 events and 157 committee recruitments. No student could have known about all of them, because opportunities are scattered across lots of Instagram pages. The social barrier. Students, especially first-years, will not attend an event alone and step out of their comfort zone, so they are likely to skip opportunities due to this fear. The high friction. Applying means finding and filling a separate Google Form for every event and recruitment, re-entering the same details each time. The lack of transparency. Among almost 40 associations, nobody can tell a student which ones are genuinely active, so a student can give a year of their time to a committee that turns out to be worthless.
The solution
We created a live feed where every opportunity is listed, and students are matched to the events and recruitments that fit their interests, which closes the information gap. To tackle the social barrier, we added a feature that lets students going to an event alone connect with others doing the same, so they can attend together. When an association works with us, students can apply or sign up in one click, with all their details sent automatically to the association’s workspace. Associations can move applicants to the next stage, propose interview times and location, accept and reject students, with emails being sent automatically. We integrated reviews written by students who attended the events or were part of the committees themselves. They are anonymous and verified for each association, so students know what they are signing up for.
Mission
To make every extracurricular opportunity at major universities visible, frictionless, easy to join and transparent about its real value.
